I received my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Elon University in 2001, where I was a North Carolina Teaching Fellows recipient.  In 2007, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Master’s of Education with an emphasis in K-12 Literacy.  After receiving this degree, I earned my National Board Certification in 2009. I was awarded Hopewell’s Teacher of the Year in 2007 and Distinguished Educator Award in 2010.

This year is my 18th year teaching at Hopewell.  I have taught kindergarten, first, and fourth grades.  This year I am team teaching with Mrs. Harrison and specialize in English Language Arts instruction.  Throughout my years at Hopewell, I have served on a variety of school and district committees. I am currently the chair of the Multicultural and Global Awareness Committee, where we collaborate ways of incorporating global & 21st century topics into all curricular areas. I also assist in creating and designing our school’s yearbook.
